Week one

Last Sunday I arrived in the city of Broadstairs, where I will spend 6 weeks. My journey passed quite well, excepted off meeting the taxi driver. I was told to wait in front of a particular shop called WHSmith, but the taxi driver still wasn't there after 40 minutes, so I decided to call my mother and after some calls, the driver found me. He was waiting in another place.

After this first hustle and bustle I had a nice 2 hour drive to Broadstairs, where I was warmely received by my host family.

I'm really happy to have this host family. They are really nice and friendly. I will inform you about my host family shortly. My host father is called David and my host mother is called Clare. They have got two children. The girl named Lauren is 6 years old and the boy named Austin is 4 years old. When I'm at home, it never gets boring, because they always want to play with me, and of course I enjoy playing with them aswell.

The school I go to is very lovely and the teachers are all very nice. I'm always looking forward to the lessons. We also have a lot of variety every week. I have classes every morning and on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. On Monday afternoon, there's the possibility to do some sports and on Friday afternoon and Saturday there's an excursion. In the evening there's also the possibility to participate in activities, such as dancing, board games or listening to a talk. There's always something to do.

In this pictures you can see some of my new friends, the school I go to and the house I live in.

About the excursions:

On Friday afternoon we went to Whitstable. It's a 45 minutes drive away from Broadstairs. Whitstable is very known for it's Oysters and it's narrow alleys. It's located at the beach and is a very lovely town. When we were there, we walked around the town, ate an ice cream and relaxed in a park.

On Saturday we went to Leeds castle. This is a very beatiful castle with an amazing park. This park is also home to many birds, that can be fed. There's also a Maze and Grotto. When we arrived, we firstly had a look at the castle, and after eating lunch, we walked through the Maze and Grotto. There would have also been a Falconry Show but the temperatures were about 35°C and that's just to hot for the falcons to fly. At least we could see them in their cages. After eating another ice cream we sat near a lake and enjoyed the nice weather.

The first five images are from Whitstable and the others are from Leeds Castle.
